The Tramway - so named due to most climbers using the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway to reach this bouldering area. The granite boulders here are scattered not too far from the Tramway station near the peak of Mt San Jacinto. The climbing style can be best described as "steep".Primarily a summer destination to escape the Southern California summer heat, the primary downside to this area is the cost. As of 2012, the cost for using the Aerial Tramway to get to the boulders is $23.25 per adult for the day. Summer passes (Valid May 1-Aug 31) are $60.00. Annual is $150.00. Visit their official website for more details.Remember to fill out a wilderness permit, even if climbing for the day! Permits can be acquired at the ranger station on the way to the boulders from the upper Tramway station.
